"Edinburgh for me is a perfect place for study."

I decided to come here because of the University’s reputation. It has a high ranking in QS [a world-wide university ranking] and is well-known in international level graduate programs. And also because of Edinburgh city itself. Edinburgh for me is a perfect place for study. It is the capital but it is not too busy.

Training on writing your first year report, how to write a paper etc helps you to develop academic skills. The School also provides some funding for conferences, workshops and summer schools.

There are opportunities for PhD students to meet others, too such as a trip to Firbush, the University’s outdoor centre and Informatics socials like the Jamboree.

After I complete my PhD, I plan to go back to my home country and to continue to work in academia at university level.
