Equality and Diversity Committee
The Equality and Diversity Committee meets quarterly and is chaired by the Equality and Diversity Coordinator.
Next meeting: Thursday 19th September 2019, at 12pm in the Turing Room
To advise the School Director of Equality and Diversity and the Head of School on all matters relating to equality and diversity.
To support and promote equality and diversity within the School.
To oversee the School’s Athena SWAN recognition including advising on the periodic submission for renewal of Athena SWAN recognition and the implementation of the School’s Athena SWAN action plan.

Appointment of members and term of office
Appointed members shall be appointed from the respective constituency with the support of the membership of that constituency.
Appointed and co-opted members shall be appointed on an annual basis, for each academic year, which shall be renewable.
Others may be in attendance at meetings of the Committee at the discretion of the Chair, either on a regular basis or as the business of the committee may determine. These may include the PDRA Development Coordinator, the Student Recruitment Officer and the Outreach Coordinator.
At the discretion of the Chair, members who are unable to attend may nominate a substitute, who will act with the member’s authority.
The Equality and Diversity Committee reports to the School Strategy Committee.
Frequency of meetings
At least three meetings during the academic year, i.e. in September, January and May.
