Firbush trips

Each year a few of the Student Representatives organise a weekend trip to the Firbush Outdoor Centre.

Firbush has now re-opened. The school will be offering two trips this autumn. One in October and one in November. These trips will be initally only offered to those students who have not had the opportunity to go to Firbush before so places will be limited.

Firbush is situated around 80 miles from Edinburgh on the picturesque shore of Loch Tay, near Killin, in the Southern Highlands of Scotland.  It provides the perfect opportunity to get to know other students in the School of Informatics and try out activities you might never have tried before. Activities on offer at Firbush include:

  • sailing
  • windsurfing
  • river canoeing
  • canoeing
  • kayaking
  • mountaineering
  • winter mountaineering
  • hillwalking
  • mountain biking
  • cross country skiing
  • orienteering

There is a limited amount of places available on the trip; transport to the site is arranged, and the trip is paid for using School funding (a returnable deposit is required to secure your place on the trip).

The Student Reps will be in touch when they're planning the next visit to Firbush.
