Response to 2014/15 survey feedback
We agree that some students without previous programming experience can find aspects of the course challenging. This and related issues had led to the creation of a new PPLS course, "Introduction to Cognitive Science", which is intended, among other things, to develop a computational and mathematical foundation that will make the technical content in INF1-CogSci easier to master. For students from the School of Informatics, we believe that the current semester-1 courses provide a strong foundation.
We are reorganizing several of the lectures for the coming year, restructuring some of the course content (in the 2nd half), and hope these changes will improve students' experiences with this aspect of the course.
