Informatics 2D - Reasoning and Agents (INF2D)

Response to 2015/16 survey feedback.

We have taken note of the feedback from students in this course survey, and have the following comments in response.

  • We are delighted that students found the course exciting, and felt that the applications and examples we used to illustrate the algoirthms and models helped to ground the AI techniques.
  • We don't really understand how we didn't get a better score on prompt feedback, since we returned marks for the coursework well within the deadline.
  • We will endeavour to make the tasks in the assignments, especially the first one, clearer. We also think there is a strong case for slightly reducing the size of these assignments, which would address the comment about the balance between assignments vs. exam. We also note the need for more explicit feedback on coding styles; coding styles weren't a part of the marking scheme this year. We would like further discussion with student reps to gauge whether students would like the elegance of the code to contribute to the mark.
