Title: The application of computer animation techniques  - Current research in NCCA

Abstract: The National Centre for Computer Animation (Bournemouth University) is a recognised centre of excellence and a pioneer in the establishment of the discipline of computer animation, fusing technical developments in computer science with underlying artistic principles and practice. Graduates from the NCCA have worked in Hollywood on such films as Lord of the Rings, Gladiator, Star Wars, and King Kong. For the past 27 years, the NCCA has been at the forefront of computer animation education and research in the UK and graduates have made a global impact upon the film industry. NCCA has prioritised multidisciplinary applications of computer animation aiming to increase innovative activity and income. This talk will briefly introduce how the research at NCCA creating impacts in other areas such as digital health, sports, fashion, psychology, etc.
