Quantum Cryptography III

Abstract

This talk will be essentially self-contained (it is not necessary to have attended any of the previous two talks). I will first present the paper "The ultimate physical limits of privacy" by Ekert and Renner. This part requires essentially no knowledge of Quantum Mechanics. At the end, if time permits, I will further analyse the underlying principle of quantum non-locality that is the resource required for this new type of security the so-called "device independent cryptography".The University of Edinburgh is a charitable body, registered in Scotland, with registration number SC005336.
