Privacy notices

Guidance for writing, using and implementing privacy notices

A privacy notice is a set of statements that explains what legal basis you have to process people’s data, what information you will process, how and how long you are going to retain it for.

Do I require a privacy notice?

If you

  • are organising events and registering attendees;
  • are taking pictures or filming people;
  • are collating and/or publishing people’s details through/on a self-managed website;
  • are processing online payments for merchandise;

you most likely are processing people’s personal data and will need a privacy notice.

Publishing personal data online

You also might need people’s consent to process their data and for their data international transfer. That will include people's images and video recordings of them.
