Information on recommended Transferable Skills Training courses for PPar Students.
The University's Institute for Academic Development (IAD) hosts multiple Transferable Skills training sessions, designed to help postgraduate students acquire and enhance skills transferable to research and future employment.
Strongly Recommended Courses
CDT in Pervasive Parallelism students are required to take the following IAD courses in every year of their studies.
Please book a place for yourself on these courses as soon as possible once booking opens. Places are limited, so it is important to book well in advance. Bookings normally open around one month prior to the course date, but sometimes earlier. If you are not able to book a place, please e-mail ppar-cdt@inf.ed.ac.uk.

Students are encouraged to take additional courses according to their career aspirations and research development needs:
You may also wish to attend one or more of the MSc courses available in the School of Informatics. To attend the lectures for a course, you must ask for approval of the Programme Director first. Please forward your approval email to the Informatics Teaching Office and request to be registered as 'Class Only' on the course (providing the course name and course code with your request). You can only audit courses, which means that you will not be awarded credit and you are not allowed to attend any tutorial or lab sessions or submit assessed coursework for these courses.
