Transferable Skills Training for PhD students
The University offers a wide range of transferable skills workshops, organised by the Institute for Academic Development. Places are limited, so it is important to book well in advance. These are some suggestions for CDT-RAS students:
- First Year PhD: Preparation of your PhD Proposal for 1st Year Review (Informatics)
- Second Year PhD: Writing an Informatics Research Paper
- Third Year PhD: PhD Thesis Workshop - School of Informatics and Preparing for your Viva - School of Informatics
- Recommended Training for PhD students
The Edinburgh Centre for Robotics has organised two compulsory sessions of the Presentation Skills workshop for CDT-RAS students only. The first session will take place on Friday 11th September 2015, and the second session on Friday 9th October 2015. Please contact the CDT administrator for further information.
There are also training courses organised externally to develop communication skills. There are only few places every year, so you should keep an eye on any updates and book your place in advance:
