Welcome to the School of Informatics. This page contains important information for the new academic year 21/22. We plan to update the website regularly with the newest information and links. If you feel any information is missing, please contact Student Support Coordinator, Benjamin Bach.
What happens during Welcome Week?
Welcome Week is the week prior to the first week of the academic semester. Welcome Week will commence from Monday 13 September 2021.

Your Essential Top 6 Tasks
You must complete these essential Top 6 Tasks before you start and during your first week, to enable you to begin your studies with us.

- register to university logins
- get setup with Office365
- begin matriculation process
- pay fees and prepare finances
- apply for university card with the university library, and
- register with local doctor and access health service
- Good Citizen Guide: guidelines for our community during times of pandemic
- Set up your Dice account

Week 0: induction week
- Make sure you have checked the University page for new students (link above)
- Also check the essential 6 tasks to be completed upon arriving in Edinburgh (link above)

Weeks 0-2:
- Set-up a meeting with your personal tutor. They will help you finalise your course choices, enroll you onto courses and confirm your attendance. Personal tutors will be there to support you throughout your studies in many matters. Don't hestitate to contact them (see links below).
Week 2: finalise course choices
- Check you have been erolled on to your final course choices. You are unable to make changes to your course options after the end of week 2. (01/10/21)
