1) 'Essentials and Basics of Online Environments' Training

 

These sessions are for you to carry out in your own time, on the Learn course entitled "Informatics Teaching Support Provider Training (2023/24)" (TSP 2023/2024).

Please do not perform this training if you have already done so on semester 1. If you have not performed it on semester 1, please find below explanations about who they are compulsory for, and who can get paid for performing them (by doing the asynchronous activities and quiz).

 

As a complement to this asynchronous training, synchronous discussion hours will be available to ask any questions and/or have discussions around teaching. You will be announced via Learn TSP 2023/2024 course >> Announcements and via email.

Essentials of being a Tutor in Informatics. (Semester 1) Mainly for tutors, appropriate for all teaching support staff who are UG3 Hons students  and above who will also be paid for doing this session COMPULSORY FOR NEW TUTORS
Essentials of being a Demonstrator in Informatics. (Semester 1) Mainly for demonstrators, but appropriate for all teaching support staff who will also be paid for doing this session COMPULSORY FOR NEW DEMONSTRATORS

Basics of Online Learning Environments 1: ​​​​​​ Using Blackboard Collaborate in Lectures, Tutorials and Labs

Basics of Online Learning Environments 2: Using Piazza for course activities and student support Appropriate for all teaching support staff who will also be paid for doing this session COMPULSORY FOR ALL TEACHING SUPPORT STAFF
Basics of Online Learning Environments 3: Using CodeGrade for marking programming assignments Mainly for markers, but appropriate for all teaching support staff who are PGT students and above. Also appropriate for tutors who use CodeGrade. PLEASE NOTE THAT ONLY MARKERS AND TUTORS WHO USE CODEGRADE WILL BE PAID FOR ATTENDANCE. COMPULSORY FOR ALL MARKERS AND TUTORS  WHO USE CODEGRADE
     

2) Advanced Semester 2 Training

 

Note: Regardless the delivery mode (synchronous or asynchronous), ALL training sessions will be available on the Learn course "Informatics Teaching Support Provider Training (2022/23)", and you can carry them out in your own time. Attendance to each session will be taken down during the live session, or you can demonstrate virtual attendance by CORRECTLY responding to ALL of the quizzes associated from the Learn course.
