Use of dictionaries in Informatics exams

Students may request approval to use a language translation dictionary in School of Informatics exams.  The dictionary must not include definitions of words, but can include several possible translations and expressions of a single word. 

If you wish to use a language translation dictionary in Informatics exams, you must bring your dictionary to the Informatics Teaching Organisation (ITO) office for approval.  A member of ITO staff will check your dictionary and, if the dictionary is suitable, they will put a sticker on your dictionary to show the exam hall invigilators that your dictionary has been approved for use in School of Informatics exams.  Please note that other Schools may or may not permit the use of dictionaries in their exams, please make sure you check this and obtain approval, where necessary.
