About us

CDT in Pervasive Parallelism combines exciting research challenges, bespoke training and industry engagement.

Applications for the CDT in Pervasive Parallelism  are now closed.

Parallelism, concurrency and distribution are at the root of a revolution in computer science, driving the biggest disruption to the technological landscape for fifty years. The impact of parallelism is pervasive, and the need for fundamental research to address it is globally recognised by government, industry and academia.

The aim of the CDT is to transform students into highly skilled independent researchers, well-equipped to become future leaders in industry and academia. Our students undertake a 4-year programme, combining a 1-year MSc by Research and a 3-year PhD, under the guidance of an expert supervision team.

In addition to the formal academic components of the CDT PPar degree programme, the Centre offers a wide range of activities and events, resources and computing equipment, industry connections, internship opportunities and input from academics across the parallelism spectrum. All of this comes together to provide CDT students with a stimulating and supportive study environment, above and beyond that of a traditional PhD.
