Title:
Towards functional gains for upper limb prosthetics
Abstract:
Upper limb prosthetics have garnered a lot of media attention as an example of the possibilities of brain computer interfaces. These stories unfortunately do not reflect reality of most prosthetic users, as research advancements in the last two decades have not changed the acceptance rate of upper limb prosthetics, and many of those who use a prosthesis reveal they are dissatisfied. In this talk, I will present how abstract control provides an alternative control strategy to pattern recognition, and how motor learning knowledge can help us advance prosthetic control.

Title:
Synaptome.db: Bioconductor package for synaptic proteome.
Abstract:
The neuronal synapse is underpinned by one of the largest and most diverse proteomes known. We curated the publicly available dataset to describe a landscape of some ~ 8000 proteins found in mammalian synapses. Respective gene information along with subcellular localization, brain region, gene ontology, disease association and protein-protein interactions were stored as SQLite database. Here we provide the direct access to the data set via R package synaptome.db, which enables convenient and in-depth database interrogation from within the Bioconductor environment.
The package Synaptome.db is a part of Bioconductor 3.14, https://bioconductor.org/packages/devel/data/annotation/html/synaptome.db.html
