Title: Multi-modal deep generative modeling for single cell multi-omics data

Abstract:

Recent development in single cell multiomics assays offer unprecedented oppor[1]tunities to explore gene regulation at a single cell resolution, providing deeper insights into the functions of diverse tissues. However, due to technical artifacts it is often challenging to jointly analyze and integrate different modalities into a unified cell state representation. Here we demonstrate that coupling latent states of unimodal variational auto-encoders during training can produce inter[1]pretable latent representations, denoise and impute single cell mutli-omics data and reveal associations between different molecular layers.
