ICSA Colloquium - 26/06/2024

Presentation Title: Circuits and Systems Lab (CAS Lab) R&D Technologies at the EECE Department of the University of Thessaly

Abstract: A set of key innovative R&D technologies developed at CAS Lab will be presented. These include (1) Static Timing Analysis Algorithms for Cyclic and Asynchronous Circuits, (2) Modern Multi-Level Partitioning for Machine Learning and (3) Electronic Design Automation Algorithms for Space Electronics Analysis. The applications of these technologies are low-power design, Scalable and Green AI for graph NNs and lower cost space electronics respectively. Results will be presented for all R&D technologies. Feedback is welcome as well as perspective future collaboration with University of Edinburgh colleagues on these or related areas.

Bio: Christos P. Sotiriou received his BEng in Computer Science and Electronics, and PhD degree in Computer Science from the University of Edinburgh, Scotland, in 2001. He is currently a Professor at the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering of the University of Thessaly. His research interests and areas, in which he has published several R&D works include design methodologies for synchronous or asynchronous digital circuits and systems, Electronic Design Automation (EDA) Algorithms, Tools and Flows for digital circuit implementation, physical design, lower-power design, reliability and Power, Performance and Area (PPA) optimisation. Prof. Sotiriou has received three Qualcomm Faculty Awards, in 2019, 2020 and 2021, and has collaborated with several large corporations on EDA tools and flows development, circuit implementation and physical design.
