Title: Fabrication-aware meshing

Abstract: Fabrication from digital objects is a challenging task, since objects must meet a strict set of properties, derived from both physicality and manufacturing constraints. I will discuss several recent methods for the geometric optimisation of freeform shapes, by the process of meshing, such that they are made ready for various fabrication procedures: robotic deposition, stitching and smocking, or cutting and assembly.
