Title: World Models for Character Animation
Abstract: In this presentation I’m going to talk about some of our recent work on successfully applying world models to the problem of real-time physically-based character motion tracking. Previous methods utilized the model-free algorithm, proximal policy optimization (PPO), to achieve a range of different interactive character controllers. We demonstrate that a purely model-based approach has improved training speed and accuracy for complex motions and is less sensitive to training environment variations.
