Convenor of Teaching Committee
Information on the Convenor of Teaching Committee role.
The School of Informatics Teaching Committee is responsible for the school's policy on delivery of taught courses and monitoring the activity within those courses. Teaching Committee also develops and monitors policy on undergraduate admission, recruitment and schools liaison. It is not directly responsible for the curriculum or syllabus content of courses; nor for resourcing decisions.
The Convenor of Teaching Committee is responsible for the regular meetings of the committee, working with the ITO to ensure that:
- Meetings are suitably scheduled throughout the academic year;
- Items tabled at meetings are coherent and provide sufficient supporting information for the committee to usefully discuss them;
- Decisions of the committee are followed through and enacted.
The Convenor also chairs the committee meetings themselves, and is responsible for their smooth and timely progress.
