Multiscale simulations of neuronal G-protein coupled receptors: from quantum to coarse-grain

Abstract:   G-protein coupled receptors (GPCRs) play a paramount role for diverse brain functions, from chemical sensing and synaptic transmission to behaviour.  For the last years, we have  developed and applied  molecular simulation tools to provide insight  on neurobiologically relevant processes involving GPCRs. The acquired knowledge may be used to help identify new ligands interfering with neurological diseases.
