Exam Rubric Clarification

Modifying the exam rubric to prevent students from answering more questions than instructed.

Proposed at Feb 2017 Teaching Committee, Item 12.

Two rubrics are to be created.

The first deals with exams where the first question is compulsory. This reads:

"Answer QUESTION 1 and ONE other question. Question 1 is COMPULSORY. If both QUESTION 2 and QUESTION 3 are answered, only QUESTION 2 will be marked."

The second deals with exams where two questions out of three should be answered. This reads:

"Answer any TWO of the three questions. If more than two questions are answered, only QUESTION 1 and QUESTION 2 will be marked."
