The project Research for Emergency Aftershock Research (REAR)

Funded under the GCRF Building Resilience Scheme by NERC, ESRC, AHRC

Michael Rovatsos, Malcolm Atkinson and Rosa Filgueira attended the REAR Kick-Off meeting in Edinburgh 19-20 January 2017 meeting with the project leaders from Geosceinces, colleagues from EPCC and partners from Ireland, a total of 21 people, met to plan the work, which has two main goals: using the higher rates of seismic activity after an earthquake to obtain observations that will improve advice to responders and influence build-back better, and to develop socio-technical models, methods and technology for collecting and applying this information.  That should lead to follow on proposals.
